An experiment with circular composition, with the image positioned within the paper to mimic the look of a circular polaroid. Image inspired by the view behind me as I hiked on a path through the mountainous Laval region of France.

This is the first painting in my Superbloom Collection, which celebrates the different flowers that cover the landscape in the southwestern United States after a good rainy season.

California Poppies symbolize regeneration, as they are able to bloom after many years of dormancy. They can transform barren areas into fields of orange, and are often among the first flowers to bloom in the spring. The other surrounding flowers in this painting are Arroyo Lupines, Desert Marigolds, and Purpletop Verbena.
