Super Bloom III: Protection
This is one of five paintings in my Super Bloom Collection, which celebrates the different flowers that cover the landscape in the southwestern United States after a good rainy season.
Purpletop Verbena symbolize protection, as they grow in dense purple patches that provide cover for the soil and smaller creatures. Many cultures see it as a plant capable of warding off evil spirits, bringing tranquility to a space. The other surrounding flowers in this painting are Desert Marigolds, Arroyo Lupins, and California Poppies.
