Cold Wail
For this piece I combined my reference of owls and forest tree branches with some theatrical lighting to create a dramatic and surreal composition. I like to imagine that the owl is subtly anthropomorphized, waiting patiently for some other figure to arrive.
Charcoal on acid-free 400 series Strathmore bristol paper, 2019. Sprayed with a fixative to prevent smudging. Hand-signed by the artist, unframed. Framing available for an additional fee, message the artist to discuss. As with any indoor artwork, avoid exposure to direct sunlight. Reproductions may not be made without permission.
