Carbonic Stain

Charcoal is a funny medium. Most people are turned off by how messy and delicate it is, and it’s often used to make a sketch for a painting instead of being used to render the final form of an idea. Despite all this I fell in love with the texture and the deep tones that it was capable of, and after some learning and tinkering I’ve been able to create images that feel tightly done like a graphite drawing, but with a whole other dimension of richness and clarity.
